Seasonal allergies

Summer is a season that most of us enjoy but for many, good weather is synonymous to sneezing, nasal congestion, watery eyes and headaches: it’s allergy season.

Our four-legged friends are not “immune” to seasonal allergies and some can become quite miserable because of pollen, grasses, ragweed, and other allergenic substances.

For them, the symptoms will usually be intense itchiness affecting particularly the paws, the body, the ears and the anus; the coat can become discoloured from being licked so much. Irritations and lesions might start to form. Kitties often have a loss of fur on the abdomen and crusts around the ears.

Fortunately for our poor delicates, it is possible for them to be relieved of this itchiness so they can also enjoy the nice weather! Medication, spot-on treatment, shampoo, natural products, and even food can come to the rescue of our furry friends! Don’t hesitate to consult your veterinarian if you have concerns!
