Dentistry
Your pet has bad breath, needs dental care, or some of his teeth are mobile? Our team is here to help! First, we can show you how to brush your pet’s teeth and we can recommend some dental care products. Despite all your efforts, just like your own teeth, when dental tartar starts to accumulate, a dental prophylaxis is necessary. Our experienced techniciens and veterinairians will perform a complete oral exam, a descaling (professional teeth cleaning) and polishing of the teeth and will take digital dental X-rays, just like your dentist! The only difference is that this must be done under general anesthesia.
Beware of those who propose to do it without anesthesia, it cannot be done right and can even irreversably damage the teeth. If dental hygene is neglected or in cases of oral disease, dental extractions may be necessary. Our veterinarians use local anesthesia and medication to control pain and to increase your loved one’s comfort. Remember: prevention such as teeth brushing, therapeutic dental diets, and a yearly dental exam is the key to helping your four-legged friend keep all of his teeth healthy all of his life.
